Victims fear the word no and will do amazing things to avoid ever hearing it. To a victim, ânoâ means rejection. Total, devastating rejection. âNoâ doesnât just sound like ânoâ to the victim, it sounds like, âNo, no, NO, you are NOT WORTH ANYTHING!â

But to an owner, ânoâ is simply the other side of âyes.â âNoâ and âyesâ live together. Every human being has a perfect right to say either âyesâ or ânoâ and this does not bother an owner. An owner honors that right. Therefore, when owners hear âno,â they donât think something is wrong with the universe. They donât conclude that life is unfair. They move right on to their next request. Life is requests and promises.
